The CUCG Team partnered with WooBerry for a quick case workshop. Clark alum, Alex Turgeon, conducted the workshop.

The Clark University Consulting Group and the Clark Entrepreneurship Club recently brought Clark alum and alumni advisor to the CUCG, Alex Turgeon (BA ‘16, MBA ‘17), back to campus to teach students about consulting. Alex is currently a management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, a top government consulting firm in the nation.

Alex conducted a brief overview of the consulting industry and frameworks and methodologies consultants use every day. To put these newfound skills and knowledge into practice, Alex brought in Worcester’s own, WooBerry – a famous local ice-cream, frozen yogurt, and smoothies’ shop, to conduct a case study. Students were given real data to analyze and pitch recommendations with WooBerry’s owner, Brendan Melican, at the end of the workshop.

Successes:

The event was very successful with over 20 students in attendance, Brendan from WooBerry was very thankful for the recommendations and was excited for the possibility to further collaborate with the Clark Consulting Group for a case competition to be held later in the year.

Final Thoughts

The Clark University Consulting Group and the Clark Entrepreneurship Club were very honored to have Alex come back to Clark and take time from his own schedule to help students who want or are thinking of pursuing a career in consulting. Thank you, Alex!
